About
About SS Office Location
What Is SS Office Location?
A directory of every Social Security office in the country, with the hearing office that handles appeals from each one. It covers 1,188 field offices, 36 resident stations and 7 card centers, checked against SSA's Office Locator on October 1, 2026, plus 159 hearing offices. Each office page gives you the address, phone, hours for every weekday and where an appeal from that office goes.
We Are Not the Social Security Administration
SS Office Location is a private, independent website. The Social Security Administration (SSA) doesn't run it, fund it or endorse it, and neither does any other government agency. We can't look up your record, book an appointment, take an application or tell you anything about your benefits.
For your own case, go straight to SSA at ssa.gov or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778). A my Social Security account handles many tasks without a trip to an office.
What the Site Covers
- An office page for each of the 1,231 offices. You get the address, phone and fax numbers, a weekly hours grid with an open-now line in the office's own time zone, the ZIP codes SSA assigns to it, the nearest other offices and nearby video service sites.
- Where appeals go. 1,114 office pages name the hearing office that handles appeals for people that office serves. Each of the 159 hearing office pages lists every field office it covers.
- State and city pages. 56 state and territory pages carry a full office table and the state's hearing offices, and 1,626 city pages list the offices in and around each city.
- Two quick tools. Which office serves my ZIP shows the office SSA assigns to your ZIP code and its hearing office. Do I need to visit an office tells you whether a task is done online, by phone or in person.
- 8 guides on appointments, video service, closed or moved offices, hearings and appeals, card centers, interpreters, security rules and ZIP code assignment, written from ssa.gov.
Where the Details Come From
Office addresses, phone numbers and hours come from SSA's open office data. ZIP code assignments come from SSA's Office Locator, and hearing offices from SSA's Hearing Office Locator. Map points come from the U.S. Census Bureau. The methodology page walks through each step.
How the Site Is Paid for
The site is free. Contextual display ads from Media.net pay for it. Ads never sit inside an office's details, a table or a tool, and they have no say in which offices appear or what a page says. There are no affiliate listings or lead forms. The advertising disclosure has the details.
Who Writes and Checks the Pages
Pages are written and checked by the SS Office Location Editorial Team, which compares every office, hearing office and guide fact with SSA's own data and pages and records the date it checked. The team isn't a law firm, isn't part of SSA and doesn't represent anyone in a claim or appeal. For help with your case, contact SSA or a qualified representative.
Spotted Something Out of Date?
Offices move, change hours and close. If a page is wrong, send a correction through the contact form with the page address and what changed. We check it against SSA's data before we update the page.
Who Owns the Site
