An Independent Directory, Not SSA

The Social Security Administration (SSA) and other government agencies don't run, sponsor or endorse this site. We can't see your record, take applications, book appointments or decide anything about benefits. For those, go to ssa.gov or call SSA at 1-800-772-1213. SSA's services, such as applying for benefits or replacing a card, cost nothing.

Office Details Can Change

Office and hearing office addresses, phone numbers and hours come from SSA's data, and each page shows the date of that data. An office can move, change its hours or close, including for weather or emergencies, after that date. ZIP code assignments reflect SSA's Office Locator on the date shown and can change too. Before you travel, confirm with SSA's Office Locator or by phone and check SSA's office closings page. Distances are straight-line estimates, not driving distances.

Information, Not Legal Advice

The guides and tools explain SSA's published rules in plain words to help you get ready. They aren't legal, financial or benefits advice and can't cover every situation. SSA's rules and decisions control. We don't promise eligibility, payment amounts, processing times, hearing dates or any other outcome. Errors and Corrections

We date information that can change and link to SSA wherever an official step is involved, but we can't promise every outside page stays current or online.
