Privacy Policy

You don't need an account to use SS Office Location, and it never asks for your Social Security number. The office finder and both tools work inside your browser. Media.net, which serves the ads, may use cookies, as described below.

Effective October 6, 2026Applies to ssofficelocation.org

ssofficelocation.org is owned by Rupe Enterprises LLC, a Washington limited liability company. The site is independent and is not the Social Security Administration, and we have no access to your Social Security record.

What Is Handled When You Visit

Like any website, ours is delivered through hosting and security providers that may process routine technical details: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the time of each request and security events. We use these details to serve pages, block abuse, fix problems and see how the site performs.

There are no accounts or comments on the site. Please don't send your Social Security number, benefit details or other sensitive information through the contact form.

The Office Finder and Tools Run on Your Device

When you search by ZIP code, city or office name, or use the ZIP code tool, your browser downloads the site's public office list and the ZIP code file for the first three digits you entered, then does the matching on your device. The visit checker runs entirely on the page. Nothing you type into these tools is submitted to us or saved on our servers.

If you tap "Use My Location," your browser asks permission first. Your location stays on your device, where it sorts offices by distance. You can say no and enter a ZIP code instead.

Messages You Send Through the Contact Form

The contact form asks for your name, an email address for our reply and your message, so we can handle corrections, advertising questions and privacy requests. The form delivers your message to our inbox through Cloudflare's email service. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is sending the form, and Cloudflare processes verification data for that purpose. Messages never go to the Social Security Administration.

Ads and Cookies From Media.net

The site shows contextual display ads served by Media.net. Media.net chooses ads mainly from the content of the page you are viewing. Media.net and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology to deliver ads, cap how often you see the same ad, measure results and prevent fraud, and depending on your location and choices, to tailor ads to your interests. They may process your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you view for these purposes.

Media.net explains its practices in its privacy policy. You can opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies through the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance. Where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent before ad cookies are set.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn how people find and use the site and to watch site performance. It may process the pages you view, an approximate location based on your IP address, browser and device details, the site that referred you and how you interact with pages, and it may use cookies to do so. What you type into the office finder, the tools or the contact form is not sent to Google Analytics.

Google handles analytics data under its own privacy policy. You can block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site's infrastructure may also use technology needed for delivery, security or fraud prevention.

When Information May Be Shared

Technical data may be processed by the providers that host, secure and run the site, and by Media.net and its partners for advertising, and by Google for analytics, as described above. Contact messages reach only the people who handle site inquiries. We may keep or disclose information when reasonably needed to follow the law, protect rights and safety, or look into abuse. We don't sell contact form messages.

How Long Data Is Kept

We keep infrastructure records and contact messages only as long as reasonably needed for replies, delivery, security, troubleshooting and legal duties. Third-party services set their own retention periods. No online service can promise perfect security, but we use established hosting and access controls suited to a site like this one.

Your Choices and Requests

Your browser settings can block or clear cookies, and the opt-out tools above control interest-based ads. Privacy rights depend on where you live. You can ask what information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion where the law allows, or raise a concern through the contact form. We may need to verify a request before we act on it.

The site doesn't currently respond to a browser's Do Not Track signal. Where the law recognizes an opt-out signal that applies to our practices, we will honor it as required.

Children

The site is meant for adults looking for Social Security office information, not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes to how we handle information will be described before or when they take effect, as required.
